The future of sculpture is here!
At the Faire: A presentation of various 3D printed and sculptural artworks from Dennis Harroun
Dennis Harroun has been collaborating with a specialty 3D printing service (Offload Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia) as well as using his own “B9 Creator” to bring my CG models to life!
The possibility to utilize additive manufacturing printers for art is now reaching the consumer level and beyond!
These Color prints represent the latest in 3D printing technology whereas the B9 creator produces incredible results for a fraction of the price as a printer that can also add color through each “pass” or “layer”. Many new possibilities for jewelry and finely detailed or even “impossible to make by hand” designs are now within the reach of anyone willing to learn 3D modeling. As a sculptor utilizing such programs as Maya, Mudbox and Zbrush Dennis creates pieces in the computer then send these finished files to the printer much like one would a text document.
